Our favorite new feature that Hunter Douglas has added to their portfolio of gorgeous and functional window treatment customization options is the newest version of PowerView® Automation.
PowerView® Automation provides your home with functionality you likely never thought possible, making the process of adjusting your windows coverings as easy as the click of a button or a voice command. You can even set an automatic schedule with the PowerView® app to adjust your window treatments as you like throughout the day to cater specifically to your schedule.
While motorized window treatments aren’t an entirely new technology to Hunter Douglas window treatments, this newest generation has been entirely redeveloped for 2022. Hunter Douglas aimed to create a technology with the unique needs of each homeowner in mind and with more compatibility options than ever before. PowerView can completely eliminate your need to make manual adjustments in each of the individual rooms of your home with the simplicity of Bluetooth technology and the ability to integrate PowerView into your already-existing smart home system. Living in a world where we can utilize hands-free technology for everything from playing music, adjusting the thermostat, and even locking our doors, window treatments have been long overdue to have a hands-free upgrade, and we’re so thrilled to be able to provide our customers with this technology.
How Does PowerView® Automation Work?
PowerView® Automation is a customization technology that can be added to a number of Hunter Douglas window treatments to make hands-free operation possible. When you opt to upgrade your windows with PowerView, you can independently operate your window coverings with the Pebble® Remote Control, with the PowerView app on your smart device, or even through voice activation when PowerView is integrated with smart-home systems such as Amazon Alexa, Siri® on your Apple device or the Google Assistant.
One of our favorite ways to utilize this innovative feature is via the PowerView app; you have the ability to set a programmable schedule for your window treatments to open, close, and fully adjust to your exact specifications. No matter if your schedule mostly stays the same or constantly changes, this technology makes it so much easier to close all the window coverings before you leave in a rush, or even optimizes your home’s energy efficiency by detecting the temperature outside and adjusting your coverings accordingly. Even if you leave to go on a trip in a hurry, adjusting your window scenes remotely from the PowerView app on your smart device can make your home more secure while you’re away and give your living space a more lived-in look.
